Prepare Case 3. Delivering Implementation Success
A multinational pharmaceuticals manufacturer terminated their Systems Integration partner immediately after completing their project Blueprint. With the organization reeling and a $150 million investment at risk, this client turned to Meridian to develop and quickly deploy a comprehensive change and risk management program. We built a baseline risk assessment that gauged support for the manufacturing implementation within the project team and across the business community. Concurrently, we developed a new communications and sponsorship strategy that reflected the ‘hot spots' and ‘high risks' identified by our RQ tool. A business team then identified and prioritized scenarios under which this project could disrupt or harm the business; a joint project-business team then developed detailed contingency and business continuity plans. Another team used Meridian's proprietary Workforce Alignment tool to map new roles, security rights, and training needs to current positions, ensuring that the right people were trained in the right topics at the right time.
Go Live was a huge success: this team was making enhancements, not just fixes, to their new system within 90 days of Go Live. In fact, this implementation won the software vendor's "Award of Excellence" as one of four best in class implementations worldwide.
